I have a Master of Arts degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Master of Science degree in Psychology, and a Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) as a therapist and clinical supervisor. I am also an Associate Lecturer at The Open University. 

The BACP is the UK’s largest professional body for the counselling professions. In 2013 the BACP launched the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status with the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care. I am committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and regularly undertake further training in specific areas, such as working therapeutically with survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence, and sexual and gender diversity clients. 

Until 2019, half of my time was spent managing a busy counselling service and team of counsellors in an inner-city secondary school, working through a national children and young people's mental health organisation. However, I am now working full-time with clients, supervisees, and organisations in private practice, as well as tutoring on undergraduate courses at The Open University. 

Having benefited from more than 150 hours of one-to-one personal therapy over a number of years, as well as 80 hours of group psychotherapy, my understanding of the therapeutic process is firmly grounded in my own experience. As well as bringing my professional and academic training to my practice, I personally understand how helpful, supportive and transformative the therapy journey can be as a client.

I have a first-class honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Anthropology from the University of London, and I practised mindfulness meditation for over a decade. I consider myself an avid runner, regularly running 10Ks, half marathons, and the occasional marathon.
